Goodfellow AFB - Safety Pad Trainer
Project Overview
MCI designed and installed a three-story modular metal structure totaling 3,360 SF that will serve as a Safety Pad Trainer at Goodfellow Air Force Base.
The Safety Pad Trainer will be used for firefighting hose advancement/safety training.
The structure is comprised of six (6) 8'-0" X 40'-0" High Cube Tripper ISO Shipping Containers, and nine (9) 8'-0" X 20'-0" High Cube Tripper ISO Shipping Containers. There is HVAC throughout the entire structure.
The first floor includes a 960 SF open office area and a 480 SF rehabilitation center with stairways and landings leading up to the second, and third floor.
The second floor includes a 1,140 SF open office area and stairways and landings leading up to the third floor.
The third floor includes a 480 SF observation room, a 950 SF observation deck area, and stairways leading down to the second floor.
The scope of work included: Electrical, HVAC, Standpipe for Hose Connection. The Standpipe is for training purposes and no water is connected to the standpipe. Stairways and Mezzanine.
